The textbook is included in a set of four books on the course of theoretical physics. This textbook outlines the fundamentals of thermodynamics and statistical physics of equilibrium and nonequilibrium systems. The non-traditional structure of presentation, in which the basic laws of thermodynamics act as an experimental basis for statistical physics, makes it possible to make quite complex problems of theoretical physics accessible to students of both pedagogical and technical universities and specialties. For most chapters, problems with answers have been selected.
The second edition (1st - 1985) has been significantly revised taking into account many years of experience in teaching theoretical physics at a pedagogical university.
For students of pedagogical and technical universities studying in areas of training in the field of physics and natural science education. It can be recommended to students of other universities as a short and accessible course in theoretical physics, including the basics of thermodynamics and statistical physics.
Recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation as a textbook for students of pedagogical and technical higher educational institutions studying in the field training and specialties in the field of physics and natural science education.
