An ordinary earthling of the 20th century, John Daker, suddenly begins to dream about another, magical world where they are waiting for him. One day he is transported to this world, finding himself in the body of the great hero Erekose, and begins his journey in a new life. The Chronicles of Corum tell about the adventures of the Wadhag prince Corum Jailin Irsi, also called the Prince in the Scarlet Robe. The Vadhag race lived out their time peacefully in castles scattered throughout the continent, when the Mabdens (people) who came from the neighboring continent begin to destroy the castles one by one, killing all the Vadhags. Corum remains the last of his race and vows revenge. Gradually, he learns that behind the Mabdens are the Lords of Swords - the Lords of Chaos, and enters into a fight with the weakest of them - Arioch. The fight ends in victory, but, having expelled one, Corum is forced to begin a fight with the rest... The dark empire of Granbretania conquers country after country in a world extremely similar to ours. One by one, those who dared to speak out against her are laying down their arms. And only Dorian Hawkmoon, Duke of Cologne, in alliance with Count Brass, guardian of the Camargue, is able to resist the darkness. The Count Brass Trilogy follows Hawkmoon's adventures after the fight for the Runestaff. It has no overarching plot, except for the idea that Hawkmoon wants to bring back the friends who died in the last novel of the tetralogy. In the first novel, Hawkmoon saves Count Brass, but loses his lover in the process. In the second novel, he unwillingly occupies the body of Iliana of Goratorm and saves the world of Goratorm from Chaos. The third novel is especially interesting. It tells about the fate of the Eternal Hero, and not only about the fate of Hawkmoon, but also Erekoz, Corum and the fate of the universe in general. It was with the novel “In Search of Tanelorn” that Moorcock at that time intended to finish the “Eternal Hero” cycle. Contents: 1. Eternal hero (Translation: Igor Danilov, Irina Togoeva)2.
