Ursula Le Guin is a classic of modern science fiction and a star of world literature, winner of many prestigious awards (including a nine-time Hugo and six-time Nebula winner), author of Earthsea and the Hain Cycle. One of the pillars of the so-called soft, humanitarian fiction, Le Guin paid great attention to issues of sociology and psychology, intercultural conflicts, anthropology and mythology. This collection includes the best of her off-cycle works: the novels “The Millstone of the Sky,” “The Eye of the Heron,” and “The Threshold,” as well as a representative retrospective of works of small form, from the debut story “April in Paris” (1962) to the farewell allegory “The Jug of Water.” (2014). Some works are published in Russian for the first time, some in a new translation, the rest in a new edition.
