The monograph presented to the attention of readers is the result of many years of research by the author on the role of Christian churches in socio-political life. Compared to previous centuries, it seemed to sociologists and the general public that faith would never again determine people's lives as much as before, and religious leaders would never (or should not) participate in politics. There was freedom of choice between old traditional religions and previously unprecedented ones imported from other parts of the world. New gods and prophets from unexpectedly emerging religious movements added to this diverse palette of religious colors. The world is experiencing a special religious era. Europe is on the verge of a new decline. However, Christianity did not become just a culture, churches did not become museums, faith did not become just a “personal matter”, “faith in the soul”, “online faith”.
