Giorgio de Chirico is the founder of the metaphysical school of painting, the herald of which in Russia was Mikhail Vrubel. His well-known credo to “illusion the soul,” his love for the strange, his appeal to the images of the Bible - all this was a kind of forerunner of Chirico. In literature, the Italian artist showed himself as an outstanding follower of the “fathers of modernism” Franz Kafka and James Joyce. This book is an autobiography, but an autobiography that has nothing to do with biography and time sequence. To plunge into the atmosphere of the story, the reader from the very beginning needs to feel like a wanderer and, of his own free will, go through the labyrinths of the memory of the mysterious Hebdomeros. This work lacks the traditional elements of the structure of a classic novel, but instead there is fragmentation, compatibility of the incompatible, a moving point of view, wandering historical signs and a number of magnificent video quotes from the visual arts - all this will allow the reader to both see and hear what is happening in the romance.
