Monograph by Associate Professor, Faculty of History, Yaroslavl State University, Doctor of Historical Sciences. G.N. Kaninskaya is dedicated to a unique phenomenon in French history - radicalism. The author focuses on a very difficult period in the life of the Republican Party of Radicals and Radical Socialists, founded back in 1901, covering 50 years - from 1944 to 1995, when it entered a period of political decline that continues to this day.
For a long time, the only published works on the history of the radical movement were two books by S.N. Gurvich, but they are limited to describing the events of the first quarter of the 20th century. Now a serious monograph has appeared on the radical party and its activities from the time of the liberation of France until the presidential elections of 1995. Such a comprehensive study does not exist either in Russia or abroad.
