FBI agent Lucy Kincaid and private detective Sean Rogan decided to spend their well-deserved vacation in a small charming town at the foot of the Adirondack Range, on the border with Canada. This is a heavenly place for two lovers. Sean's acquaintances intend to open a hotel here and develop a tourism business, thus giving the dying town a new life. However, it soon became clear that not everyone in the area liked such plans. Several times they even tried to set fire to the new hotel. The local police carefully turned a blind eye to all this, and then Lucy and Sean began a private investigation. It turned out that another business has been flourishing in the area for a long time - criminal, and it is run by a man whom even his relatives call a monster. And this monster really doesn’t like either new ideas for the development of the region, or the interference in its affairs of two impudent strangers...
