Egor, an ordinary programmer from Yekaterinburg, wakes up after a long night of work. The apartment looks uninhabited, outside the window there is an overgrown yard, packs of ferocious dogs roam among the dilapidated houses. But the main strangeness is that after an incomprehensible catastrophe, the streets are strewn not only with time-polished human bones, but also with perfectly preserved bodies. Having discovered others who have awakened, Yegor understands that in his hometown people are awakening gradually, according to a logic that no one understands. He cannot live by the rules that former officials and bandits are beginning to establish. Egor organizes his own community, basing it on an unusual principle: to preserve the bodies of those who have not yet awakened. Egor and his faithful friends will have to defend their new home and that small world in which they are trying to revive life.
