“Every man is more interested in a woman who is interested in him than in a woman who has beautiful legs,” said the great Marlene Dietrich (1901–1992). There is no doubt about the truth of these words, because after the release of the film “The Blue Angel” the whole world was at her feet. Famous people were no exception. The German writer Erich Maria Remarque and the French actor Jean Gabin were her lovers, and she maintained friendly relations with Ernest Hemingway for many years. In close collaboration with the brilliant director Joseph von Sternberg, she created a legendary image and became a legend herself. Marlene became famous by starring in seven of his films over five years, and these were the best films in which her unfading charm was revealed to this day.
