A book about friendship, about hiking, about growing up and the challenges that life offers, about the value of family. The work intertwines memories of childhood, which fell during a difficult time after the collapse of the USSR, one can feel the confusion and chaos of the nineties, and shows the role of the family in the formation of life guidelines and the formation of a person. Despite the fact that we are talking about our days, the author refers to the history of the country, which is reflected in the history of one particular family. The action takes place in amazingly beautiful places on Russian soil: the cliffs of the Middle Urals on the banks of the Chusovaya River, lakes and mountain peaks of the Western Sayans, taiga paths near Lake Danilov near a lost village in the Omsk region. The narrative is imbued with an atmosphere of love: for one’s neighbor, for the country, for life as such. “With a smile about what’s important” is, perhaps, the motto of this book.
