At the beginning of the 16th century, the Spanish Conquista, unprecedented in scale of violence and robbery, began on the South American continent. Thousands of conquistadors rush in pursuit of treasures and ranks. As a rule, these were impoverished Spanish knights who went to a distant continent at their own expense and often against the wishes of the Spanish royal court. Their conquests and expeditions took place in Guatemala, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Honduras and on the Pacific coast. Suppressing the performances of the Indians, the Spaniards executed them in the thousands. Those left alive were turned into slaves by the conquistadors and forced to work in the fields, mines or workshops. Numerous group suicides from overwork and appalling living conditions, deaths from infectious diseases brought by aliens (smallpox, plague, diphtheria, measles, scarlet fever, typhus and tuberculosis) led to one of the largest demographic catastrophes on the planet. The next book in the series introduces readers to the campaigns of the most desperate and cruel conquerors of South America. The book is published in the author's edition.
