Vadim Korostylev (1923–1997) - writer, poet, playwright, screenwriter, author of the famous lines “And a smile, without a doubt, will suddenly touch your eyes...” from the film “Carnival Night.” It was he who came up with the fairy tale about Vovka from the Far Away Kingdom and wrote the script for the cartoon of the same name, and also became the author of the scripts for the Soviet children's films “Aibolit-66”, “The Deer King”, “The Secret of the Snow Queen”, “Honest Magic”. The book includes two fairy tales by the writer: “King Bang-Bang, or the Tale of Ivan the Not-Giant” and “The Doll Nadya and Others.” Vadim Korostylev is the king of puns on which his fairy tales are based, which is why his works are so perky and funny. They will open to the reader an unprecedented fairy-tale world and show that courage, kindness and selflessness always triumph over anger and cunning. Illustrations by A. Shevchenko.
