In her youth, she traveled to many foreign countries, which in itself was an exception to the rule in those days. Trained at Oxford. An unexpected portrait of a tough time and the memory of a woman’s heart helped the author write this book. As if defending her era from hasty accusations, Andreeva gives an honest, nostalgic, tearfully touching sketch of Vologda in the 60s–80s. Descriptions of Vologda shops in the 70s are reminiscent of paintings by Dutch painters. Northern nature is depicted masterfully. The discussions about his own first poems and about poetry in general are not just impartial, but also profound. The fabulous mystical episodes in Tarnoga (the regional center of the Vologda region, where Andreeva worked at school) are amazing. The cultural life of Vologda is also reflected - concert work, the atmosphere of the railway workers' cultural center, a blueberry pie baked for Vladimir Spivakov... The book is decorated with works by the famous Vologda landscape painter Valery Strakhov, which are very consonant with the light nostalgic intonation of the memoirs.
