The action of the fantasy novel takes place in the early 90s after the collapse of the USSR in Central Asia. A demobilized soldier tries to get home. The soldier's name is Fyodor Sukhov and he is the great-grandson of that same Sukhov, forced again to work off the fate (karma) of his ancestor and trying with all his might to break out of this circle. Everything seems to be unfolding similarly at first... However, the new Fyodor Sukhov is forced to save the world, but not at all like a “tough nut”, all his “combat actions” decide little in the end... And no one around, except Fyodor and someone else, understands that we find ourselves in a vicious circle of history.
