A. S. Pushkin's novel "Eugene Onegin" tells how Onegin hired the poet Pushkin to write a novel in verse about the events surrounding the duel. In the first three chapters, Onegin made his own insertions into Pushkin’s text, which were then edited by Pushkin. After the co-authors quarreled, Onegin was forced to continue working on his own and spoil Pushkin's poems in the remaining chapters in order to hide the difference between the poet's poems and his additions.
