The book is a continuation of the textbook by Yu. A. Zhluktenko, E. A. Karpilovskaya, V. I. Yarmak “Learning the Ukrainian language. Self-instruction manual,” published in 1991. It contains a more complete presentation of the grammar of the modern Ukrainian literary language. Particular attention is paid to difficult cases of Ukrainian form and word formation, the laws of constructing phrases and sentences. The educational material is accompanied by texts devoted to the history and culture of Ukraine, as well as the formation and development of the Ukrainian literary language. Russian-Ukrainian dictionaries of stable phrases and interlingual homonyms are included.

The proposed system of lessons consistently and in an accessible form reveals the basics of Ukrainian grammar, promotes the formation of basic vocabulary, oral and written speech skills.
