Francis Crick (1916–2004) is a British molecular biologist, one of the most famous scientists of the 20th century, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (jointly with James Watson and Maurice Wilkins) for the discovery of the structure of the DNA molecule. As the title for his scientific memoirs, Crick chose a quote from a poem by the English Romantic poet John Keats, which perfectly describes the sublime atmosphere of scientific achievement. The book “What a Crazy Aspiration!”, published in English back in 1988, is being published in Russian in a new translation.
