"Midnight of the Shah" is a sequel to the novel "The Oriental Carpet". The plot of the novel takes place 6-10 years after the events and places indicated in the novel "The Oriental Carpet", which describes the irreconcilable enmity between the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh. As a result of this political struggle, events flared up in Iran that subsequently influenced the fate of the Middle East and the whole world. The intelligence services of Great Britain, the USA, France and the USSR enter into confrontation. One of the main characters is again Rustam Karimi.
