The work shows that farewell to the era of structuralism was premature. On the contrary, the urgent need for the means of structuralist thought comes at the present moment, filled with events and intellectual trends, the emergence of which was predicted at various times by the main figures in the book. "Vanishing Theory" represents a new introduction to the concepts they created and at the same time contains an analysis of their theories as applied to modern times.
