Captain Robert Frobisher returns to London from a voyage with the intention of finding a bride, getting married and starting a family, but on the same day he receives a new assignment from the chief of the British Secret Service - to go to the Crown possessions in West Africa and track down a gang of slave traders operating in Freetown.
