The alternative development of the Russian Republic began with the rash decision of Emperor Alexander, under pressure from the winner of the Russian-Gallic war, Napoleon Bonaparte, to abolish serfdom in Rus'. Subsequent events gave rise to the Great Revolution, which overthrew the rule of the ossified and outdated Empire. This is how the Russian Republic arose, with its strange attitude towards the nobility and the clans of the Gifted (analogous to modern “Psychics”).
