Ilya Goryachev is a historian by training, leader of the nationalist movement “Russian Image”, assistant to a State Duma deputy from “United Russia”, author of analytical reports on left-wing radicals for the presidential administration, publicist, writer. In May 2013, he was arrested in Belgrade and extradited to Russia on charges of leading the Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists. In 2015, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Ilya Goryachev does not admit the charges and denies involvement in BORN activities. At the beginning of 2016, after an appeal by lawyers, the Supreme Court upheld the life sentence for Ilya Goryachev. He was transferred to Polar Owl, a special regime colony for life prisoners. I only tried my hand at fiction when I was in prison. This is his debut collection.
