The history of Belarus from ancient times to the present day is presented. The problems of ethnogenesis (origin) of Belarusians, the formation of the Belarusian nationality and nation, the formation of Belarusian statehood, the socio-economic, political and cultural development of the Belarusian lands as part of the Old Russian state, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the Russian Empire are covered. Particular attention is paid to the history of the Soviet period, the Soviet model of modernization of society, problems of development of the sovereign Republic of Belarus. The first edition was published in 2010. For students and teachers of higher educational institutions, as well as students of secondary specialized and vocational educational institutions, lyceums, gymnasiums, all who are interested in the history of the Fatherland.
