Robert Murray McCheyne was born in 1813 in Edinburgh, Scotland, into a prosperous family. He became a well-known and beloved minister, and many of his sermons were translated. He also wrote poetry. This book, “The Song of Robert's Life,” describes his life based on historical facts. All the people mentioned in it actually lived, with the exception of those who are mentioned only by name. Since Robert's life is described from the age of four, the first part of the book is simpler in style than the second, which describes his ministry. Poems or excerpts from them are partially taken from the collection of poems “Songs of Zion” and Andrew Bonar’s book “Posthumous Writings and Memoirs of Robert Murray McCheyne.”
