When they appeared, I was only seven years old. I found out about them much later. Classmates copied each other's "Stone on the Head" tapes. I decided not to lag behind. Turned it on. I listened to “The Gardener” and thought: “Oh, horror!” “Oh, horror” - not because I didn’t like it or it was bad. Now I understand - I was just scared of that aggression and the power of the sound. She pushed the cassette onto the far shelf. But she always knew where she was. Sometimes I even got it. I was looking at it. And she put it back in place. At rock festivals, where I often visited, they always played. And of course - his main hit at that time, “The Men Ate Meat.” My legs themselves carried me out of the hall, as soon as the Pot began to bass in a toothless voice: “The men were sitting at the table and eating”... Trembling, I waited out their meal, in full confidence that on the other side of the doors there was solid raw meat. Who knows, maybe my interest in “Jesters” was fueled by this fear, maybe it was the extreme curiosity of a “good” girl about an unfamiliar, aggressively grimy world, or maybe it was the ordinary rhythmic coincidence of youth with garage music. When I met the group, I fell in love with them swoop. And then, at the group’s first big solo concert in Yubileiny, I fell in love with their music. However, this happened when the group, according to many, began to pop.
