The most important obstacle for the United States on the path to world domination is still Russia. The point here is not at all that Russia, being the legal successor of the USSR, has retained, even if only on a subconscious level, the status of a great power and therefore will always strive to restore this status. This aspiration is utopian and does not pose a threat to the United States. The point is not even that Russia’s existing nuclear forces are quite sufficient to flood any continent with fire. Now completely different military technologies are more effective. Here the matter is different. The fact is that Russia, apparently genetically, does not accept American culture. “Pragmatic civilization” is completely alien to it. The cult of money may blind you for a moment, but it will never become a genuine way of life. The highest values, such as, for example, “justice,” represent in the Russian consciousness not a means, but an end goal. Russia, by its nature, is destined to stand in opposition to everything purely “material.” This contradiction cannot be eliminated. It will never be overcome. The confrontation between “spirit” and “inert matter” will apparently become the central conflict of the beginning century.
