Many years ago, the last five families of dragons became dependent on the elves and are now forced to live among them, submitting to their will. Elves consider dragons to be slightly flawed creatures and not entirely intelligent, they use them as labor and keep them as livestock. Dragons cannot leave - they have bound themselves to the Word, and if they break it, they will lose their dragon form. This would have continued further if a mutant had not appeared in the etheric masonry - the golden dragon Ilidor, who seems to give a damn about the Word, and who seems to be able to return to the origins, the lost dragon homeland of Takaron.
