John Faulkner's Moonfleet is a swashbuckling tale of eighteenth-century Dorset smugglers. Fifteen-year-old orphan John Trenchard is driven from his home by his Aunt Jane. He goes to live in a local hotel with the mysterious Elzevir Block, whose son was tragically killed by customs officers. Unofficially adopted by Block, John will have to find out the reasons for the nightly commotion in the cemetery, about Blackbeard's lost treasure and unravel the secret of Block's Elsevier.
