Even schoolchildren today know that fashion repeats itself. Back in the last century, experts identified rhythm in fluctuations in the height of the hem, and then in the appearance of certain silhouettes. Since then, the study of the cyclical nature of fashion trends has not advanced further, since the search was carried out in external signs, and not in the essence of the phenomenon itself, which is directly related to the psychology of society. It is the demand for this or that image-type of a person and the lifestyle associated with it (which includes architecture, interior design, clothing, objects of decorative and applied art) that provokes the emergence of a general historical style. Of course, each country, adapting general style/fashion trends, gives them its own flavor in accordance with the national character, just as each person, dressing fashionably, brings his own vision to the fashionable image. Knowing the sequence of repetition of styles/fashion and the periodicity of the cycle, one can safely predict the emergence of fashion trends in world fashion as a whole and taking into account the national specifics in each country separately. Thus, the proposed book is the first in-depth study of the history of fashion in connection with the style of each historical period . It also examines the influence of the national character of countries that adapt fashion trends. Analysis of the relationship between styles and images made it possible to calculate the frequency with which fashion trends that correspond to the dominant psychotype at that moment are repeated.
