How did ancient people understand the structure of the universe and their place in the world? How did you imagine where they came from and where they were going? How and what has changed in the understanding of history after the appearance of the New Testament books? In the first part we will try to outline in general terms the history of the very concept of “providence” and consider how providence was understood in the oldest texts that have reached us, up to the New Testament books. In the second, we will look at the understanding of fishing in late antiquity and the Middle Ages.
