In Islam, as in other religions, there are many holidays that are an important part of the Muslim cult. In Arabic, "holiday" is called "id" ("return at a certain time"). Holidays are celebrated joyfully and solemnly. On holidays, every Muslim is given the opportunity to give thanks and praise to the Lord for His mercies, for special grace, for providing the opportunity to appreciate and rejoice in all the blessings of God. You will read about all the holidays of Islamic culture further in the book.
