The book offered to your attention is a collection of stories, jokes, anecdotes, the authors and heroes of which were famous writers and poets from ancient times to the present day. The compilers do not claim to have collected all the stories. This is absolutely impossible - there are more of them than there is paper on which they could be published. We also do not dare to assert that everything collected here is true or happened exactly as described. The reader has probably heard or read many stories and anecdotes “with a beard” in other variations and even with other characters. The point of many of the stories described here is not in accuracy, but in the fact that in our perception famous writers, poets, artists, actors do not become monuments, do not become bronzed, and do not lose their human qualities. However, our goal is by no means some kind of debunking of the greats. We just wanted to show that the most talented person is, first of all, a person and cannot change his nature, we wanted to reveal other aspects of the talent and personality of famous people, tell non-academic facts from their biographies and the lives of their works and heroes.
