The collected works of M. M. Zoshchenko is the most complete collection of prose by one of the greatest innovative writers of the 20th century. It includes almost all of the writer’s known works, from early stories, parodies and “Sentimental Tales” to the book “Before Sunrise” and later “positive” feuilletons. The first volume includes stories and feuilletons from 1922–1924, as well as early, unpublished works during Zoshchenko’s lifetime. The second volume includes stories and feuilletons from 1925–1930. The third volume includes the cycle “Sentimental Stories” in the latest author’s edition, the adjacent story “Michelle Sinyagin”, based on real materials “Letters to a Writer” and created jointly with the artist N. Radlov, ironic book-albums “Funny Projects” and “Happy Ideas”. The fourth volume includes stories and feuilletons from 1931–1946, the second period of Zoshchenko’s writing activity. The fifth volume includes Zoshchenko’s main works of the 1930s. - “Youth Restored” (1933), “The Story of One Reforging” (1934) and “The Blue Book” (1935). The sixth volume includes the stories “The Black Prince” (1936), “Retribution” (1936), “Belkin’s Sixth Tale” (1937), “The Inglorious End” (1937), “Taras Shevchenko” (1939) and the entire corpus of stories for children. The seventh volume includes the book “Before Sunrise” (1943) and stories and feuilletons from 1947–1956.
