Russia's relations with Poland have not been easy for centuries. Unfortunately, even now there is little positive in them. The fuss over Katyn, which erupted on the eve of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of our Victory in the Great Patriotic War, with the strange crash of a Polish plane near Smolensk and confused statements at the highest level, does not add any positivity. One gets the impression that certain forces, both in Poland and in Russia, do not need the truth in this matter. The book by publicist and political scientist V. N. Shved should promote mutual understanding between Russia and Poland, the establishment of friendly relations between the Russian and Polish peoples.
