Slavko Janevski is a famous Yugoslav writer and poet, member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, laureate of union and republican prizes.

Trilogy (“Legions of Saint Adophonis”, “Dog Crucifixion”, “Waiting for the Plague” ), awarded the M. Krleža Prize, is a philosophical parable-metaphor from the life of a certain fictitious village of Kukulino during the Middle Ages. Concrete and conditional at the same time, it symbolically capaciously reflected in its history all facets of the difficult fate of Macedonia. The novel contains the necessary attributes of the genre - bloody battles, personal courage, monastic cells, betrayal, revenge and love.
