Five women go on a camping trip organized by their company. After a few days, only four emerge from the forest. Federal agent Aaron Falk undertakes to find out what happened to Alice Russell, his informant in a money laundering investigation. Alice knew not only about the machinations in the company, but also the dark secrets of her colleagues with whom she went on this journey. Together with her partner, Falk goes to the scene of the incident to conduct her own investigation. Each of the four survivors has her own version of what happened. Comparing sometimes contradictory testimonies, Falk gradually learns the details of a terrible story involving friendship, professional rivalry, betrayal and fear.
