Cult film director Stanislas Cordova has not appeared in public for more than thirty years. For a quarter of a century, his films have not been widely released, shown only at secret screenings known as “night cinema.” For his many fans, he is a man of mystery. For journalist Scott McGrath, he is enemy number one. And for the young virtuoso pianist Alexandra – father. On a rainy October night, Alexandra’s body is found in an abandoned Manhattan warehouse. The police verdict is suicide. And this is by no means the first death in the history of the Cordova family, a dynasty that seems to have been cursed. McGrath is confident that this is not just a coincidence. Driven by a thirst for revenge and an insatiable thirst for truth, he finds himself drawn into a volatile, hypnotic world where everyone is afraid of something and nothing is what it seems. Once McGrath already tried to bring Cordova to clean water - and paid for it with a collapsed career , upset marriage. Now he is risking his very sanity. For the first time in Russian, there is a kind of remake of the cult “Kinomania” by Theodor Roschak, as if coming from the collective pen of Stephen King, Gillian Flynn and Stieg Larsson.
