Atlanta. The Island is the first book in the “Atlanta” series by the popular science fiction writer Dmitry Kolosov, who previously wrote under the pseudonym J. Cole. The book was published by the Transport publishing house in two volumes. As a result of defeat in an armed interplanetary conflict, a group of Atlanteans, including the main character of the novel, Rusiy, was forced to leave their homeland. Leaving the destroyed capital, they make their way to a secret base in the mountains, where the space cruiser Mars is hidden. At the appointed hour, the cruiser with 45 crew members and passengers on board leaves the planet and, having deceived its pursuers, hides in the vastness of space. After long wanderings, having survived many dangers, the Atlanteans find a planet exactly like the abandoned Atlantis. Space wanderers decide to settle here and revive a lost civilization. The Atlanteans give the planet the name Earth. Due to the paradoxes of time, the life of the Atlanteans turns out to be very long, which allows them to create an entire nation of their descendants. However, having seized power and established the military and economic hegemony of their race, the Atlanteans did not take into account that the government of their native Atlantis was not suitable for people. This, as well as the internal strife of the Atlanteans, led to numerous and bloody wars.
