One of the most famous books about Cossacks in Russia before the revolution was written by the author of many instructions on the training of privates and non-commissioned officers, military writer and teacher Konstantin Abaza. The book was published twice at the end of the 19th century and was not reprinted in the USSR. Today we present it to the modern reader. You will find stories about the emergence of the Cossacks on the Don, about the glorious pages of military Cossack campaigns, descriptions of the life of the Cossacks, biographies of the most prominent representatives of the Cossack atamans, leaders of the uprisings, heroes who glorified the Cossacks of the Don, Ural, Kuban and Terek region. The history of Russia is largely determined by the Cossacks. Without this special power on the outskirts of the Muscovite kingdom, neither Siberia, nor the Far East, nor the Caucasus, nor the Black Sea region, nor the Caspian lands would have become part of Russia. The book uses illustrations from the 2nd edition of 1899 and drawings by N.S. Samokisha. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
