The book is dedicated to the history of the military campaigns of the Roman emperors Domitian (in 89 AD) and Trajan (in 101-102 and 105-106 AD) against Dacia, a kingdom located in the territory of modern Romania. The author not only pays attention to the eventual side of these wars full of dramatic events, but also examines the features of the military affairs of the warring parties - the organizational structure, weapons, strategy and tactics of both the Roman army and the Dacian troops and their allies (the nomadic Sarmatians and other peoples of the Danube basin ). When reconstructing the events and everyday realities of that era, visual materials from Roman triumphal monuments built in honor of the victory over the Dacians - Trajan's Column in Rome, etc. - are widely used.
