The nature of historicism and folklore foundations of the tragedy “Boris Godunov”, the novel “The Captain’s Daughter”, the story “The Queen of Spades” by A.S. Pushkin, as well as the dramatic trilogy of A.K. Tolstoy are explored.
Authors They also strive to show the connection between Pushkin’s tragedy and the traditions of Euripides and Shakespeare. Pushkin's works are examined in the broad context of human history.
The researchers focus on a complex and rich set of ideas and problems associated with the figure of the king, the genesis of which goes back to the image of the tribal leader during the period of the decomposition of the tribal system and the formation of class society. Also interesting are the authors’ observations and reflections on the connections between the ideological complex “tsar - impostor - buffoon - holy fool” and the genre, nature of tragedy and novel.
