Lonely dog Lucky escapes from the Trap - a home for stray dogs - when a terrible earthquake begins. In a destroyed and depopulated city, he meets former domestic dogs, left by their owners to die without food or shelter. Lucky tries to awaken in them the instinct - the Dog Spirit, teaching them to survive in a world without people: to find food and shelter, to fight enemies and predators, but, above all, to forget about loyalty to their Longpaws and flee from the city that threatens danger.
