Currently, cell engineering is the most promising and harmoniously developing area of biotechnology. It is with cellular engineering that advances in various fields of science, medicine, pharmacology, manufacturing and agriculture are associated. The use of cell cultures allows us to overcome many of the bioethical problems associated with the use of animals in scientific research. Cell and tissue cultures isolated from natural materials are widely used in the industrial production of biologically active substances and drugs. A variety of vaccines are produced using cell cultures. The issue of large-scale production of monoclonal antibodies based on hybridoma cultures is currently being addressed. The textbook is designed to familiarize students with the basics of cell engineering of plants and animals, hybridoma biotechnologies; study modern methods of cultivating cell cultures and creating hybridomas; to form in students a holistic scientific understanding of the possibilities and ways of development of cellular biotechnologies. The textbook is intended for masters studying in the Molecular Biotechnology program, as well as for bachelors and specialists - molecular biologists, biochemists, cytologists using cell engineering methods.
