The hero of this story, Count Benevsky, is considered one of the most prominent adventurers, travelers and public figures of the eighteenth century. Being a Kamchatka exile, Benevsky managed to raise an uprising in the Bolsheretsk fortress, the main one in Kamchatka, captured a warship with cannons and set off with hundreds of his associates, mostly Cossacks, on a long journey by sea. During the voyage, he visited Formosa and China, Japan and the island of Ile-de-France, became the king of Madagascar, set out to build a state of the Sun there (a state of equals), but accidentally died in a battle that never took place... Such people like Count Benevsky, you probably won’t find anyone else in the history of Russia. Without exaggeration, his life was amazing...
