Warsaw, 1940. The Jewish ghetto is under strict Nazi control. Hundreds of thousands of men, women and children are slowly starving to death within these walls. And while there is despair all around, one man brings hope and continually cares for the ever-growing number of disadvantaged children. Students Misha and Sofia help Janusz Korczak in his Orphanage. But staying in the ghetto becomes more and more dangerous and young people have to confront the circumstances alone, hoping to someday find each other again. And Dr. Korczak, refusing to leave his children, will go to the very end, into the abyss of terrible and inhuman darkness. Based on a true story, a novel about the outstanding Polish teacher and Dr. Janusz Korczak, who died along with his students in Treblinka.
