This book will delight any animal lover. The author, who kept 6 dogs of different breeds in succession, describes their characters, behavioral characteristics, and the place that each of them occupied in her life in a fascinating and not without humor. The latter is essentially the main theme of the story. The reader learns how much his own devoted dog meant to the author in childhood, full of suffering due to insufficient attention from adults; in youth and adulthood, each of the dogs became a companion and, ultimately (not immediately!), a faithful friend, giving life new, bright colors. The book is imbued not only with love for dogs, but also with a subtle understanding of the motives of their behavior.
