This book briefly presents all the main chapters from the Gospel, the Acts of the Apostles and the Revelation of John the Theologian in illustrations by the wonderful German romantic artist Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld. Julius studied at the Vienna Academy of Arts, spent a lot of time in Italy, where he painted one of the halls villas of the Marquis Massimi with frescoes depicting scenes from Roland the Furious. In 1827, he became a professor of historical painting at the Munich Academy, and his frescoes decorated the palace of Ludwig I. But he gained great fame and popularity, both in Germany and in other countries, thanks to the most important work of his life - elegant, spiritual engravings , his famous illustrations for the Bible.
