The diary of the poetess Irina Nikolaevna Knorring (1906–1943), which she called “A Tale from Her Own Life,” is being published for the first time. The first volume of the Diary covers the period from 1917 to 1926 and reflects the key events of Russian history of the 20th century, seen through the eyes of “the most intimate and intimate poetess of the Russian diaspora.” The diary immerses the reader in the atmosphere of the semi-impoverished, but creatively rich life of Russian refugees; opens an unknown lacuna in the cultural life of the Russian emigration - a chronicle of the days of the Naval Corps in Bizerte, the everyday life of Russian poets and writers in Paris, and much more.
