François Baranger is a multifaceted artist: comic book author, book illustrator (Russian readers are familiar with his magnificent works from Howard Lovecraft’s stories “The Call of Cthulhu” and “The Ridges of Madness”), computer game designer. He worked a lot for cinema as a conceptual artist (Prince of Persia, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Clash of the Titans, Beauty and the Beast). In 2013, he wrote the science fiction novel Dominium Mundi, which was enthusiastically received by readers and critics. It was followed by the thriller “Domino Effect” in 2017. The year is 2202: a New Christian Empire emerges on planet Earth after a bloody war that has engulfed all continents. Urban IX, the all-powerful pope, ruler of the world, rules with an iron hand over the peoples who have returned to the medieval way of life. The spaceship explores the Centaurus constellation in the hope of conquering new territories for humanity; one of the planets turns out to be inhabited; moreover, the newly minted colonizers discovered the authentic tomb of Christ there! But the attempt to take possession of it suffered a crushing defeat. The giant spaceship "Saint Michael" is sent from Earth to Akiya Centauri. As a result of the invasion, thousands of Atamids were killed and their cities were destroyed. But among the numerous messengers of the Earth, a split has emerged, because not everyone is ready to destroy alien life with fire and sword. The Knight Templar Tancred intends to put an end to this absurd war. He and his companions get a unique opportunity to observe from the inside the life of the indigenous inhabitants of Akia Centauri. Will Tancred be able to establish contact with the Atamids, or will the earthlings wipe out this unique civilization from the face of the planet? Will the natives survive against the new crusaders? For the first time in Russian!
