The novel by the Hungarian writer A. Serb (1901-1944) “The Ghosts of Pendragon Castle” is a unique synthesis of a criminal novel with a ghost story and a love story. The combination of elements of various styles, even parody, gives the story an extraordinary charm. In “The Queen’s Necklace”, within the framework of an adventurous and at the same time truthful narrative from beginning to end, the author describes the history of the most scandalous trial of the 18th century associated with the name of the last queen of France, Marie Antoinette.
